Andrea Festa stands on the Lungotevere, in the heart of Rome, facing Castel Sant’Angelo. Founded in 2020, the gallery offers a boutique experience within a neoclassical interior that serves as a stage for a rigorously curated and internationally minded program.

GALLERY PROGRAM

Rooted in the conviction that a gallery must evolve as much as it exhibits, its mission is to elevate the research and visibility of emerging artists—especially painters—by introducing international talents to Italian audiences and nurturing Italian artists on the global stage. The program privileges practices that challenge and expand the language of painting, while remaining open to other mediums that deepen or complicate that dialogue.

SALA NOVA

The gallery’s experimental project space, is both a physical and conceptual second room dedicated to artistic play, risk, and reinvention. Extending the gallery’s curatorial ethos, it offers artists and curators a flexible, open-ended platform for experimentation—encouraging them to move beyond the boundaries of their established practices and to engage with unfamiliar mediums, formats, and conceptual approaches. From debut projects and site-responsive installations to process-based residencies and ephemeral gestures, Sala Nova fosters new voices, collaborative encounters, and unconventional narratives, enabling the gallery to continually question and expand its role within the cultural landscape.

Together, the main gallery and Sala Nova articulate a dual rhythm: one of concentrated refinement and one of expansive experimentation. This dual-space model reflects Andrea Festa’s belief that a gallery must be both critically rigorous and creatively volatile—supporting artists in advancing their practices and offering audiences encounters with works that challenge, seduce, and resonate long after the exhibition has ended.
