Emmanuel Massillon
Emmanuel Massillon (b. 1998, Washington D.C.) is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist working across painting, sculpture, performance, and sound. Rooted in his experiences growing up in Washington D.C.’s inner city and his Haitian heritage, Massillon’s practice critically examines race, identity, and culture with a strong emphasis on Black resilience and creativity. His work is process-driven, using raw, tactile materials and drawing influences from African-American music and street vernacular. Massillon has exhibited internationally and is represented in major museum collections including the Baltimore Museum of Art.
