I build forms that translate between states — always becoming something else, never fixed.Matija Čop
Matija Čop (b. 1987, Croatia) is a London-based artist working across sculpture, painting, and printmaking. Rooted in the concept of “translation” as a material and structural process, his work reconfigures modular elements into mutable forms that probe the shifting boundaries between order and disorder, craft and manufacture, system and rupture. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Museum of Arts and Crafts, Zagreb; and the Neal Baer Collection, New York.
