In Sky (Scratch), Nicholas Moenich orchestrates a dense and layered abstract architecture, where the precision of solid geometry meets an uneasy and vibrant graphic mark. The composition is structured around a series of inclined planes and prismatic forms in saturated colors—neon pink, vitamin orange, forest green, and blue—that seem to interlock within a multidimensional perspective space.
This formal rigidity is traversed and "scratched" by dark, purplish areas, characterized by irregular hatching that evokes the aesthetics of engraving or digital glitches. The upper part of the painting culminates in an ethereal gradient suggesting a glimpse of leaden sky, creating a sharp contrast with the chromatic complexity below. The work thus presents itself as a synthetic and psychological landscape, where the tension between perfect form and instinctive gesture generates a magnetic and deeply contemporary visual energy.
