Sebastián Hidalgo (b. 1985, Mexico) is a visual artist based in Cholula whose practice spans painting, drawing, and mixed media. Working with oil, charcoal, ink, and colored pencil on diverse supports, Hidalgo creates mutable, multi-layered worlds informed by anthropology, Archaic art, mysticism, Taoism, science fiction, and cyber-aesthetics. His work has been presented in exhibitions across Mexico and the United States, including the Rufino Tamayo Biennial of Painting, the National Biennial of Visual Arts Yucatán, and the Biennial Artemergent Monterrey.
