I consider myself a painter, yet my practice extends beyond the canvas—my works inhabit space, becoming environments where painting, sculpture, and installation converge to explore transformation, presence, and absence.
Andreas Zampella
Andreas Zampella is an Italian artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation. Born in Salerno in 1989 and trained in Decoration at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, Zampella has developed a multidisciplinary approach that treats painting as a spatial and temporal practice, often integrating scenographic elements. His work explores the interplay between the everyday and the symbolic, bringing to life objects and surfaces that evoke both reality and imagination. Recent solo exhibitions include Dove nascono gli uccelli at Nashira Gallery, Milan (2023), Passaggio al buio at Palazzo Braschi, Rome (2023), and Piano d’ascolto at Andrea Festa Fine Art, Rome (2022). Zampella has participated in numerous residencies and symposia in Italy and abroad, including DomagkAteliers, Munich (2025) and Dolomiti Contemporanee, Borca di Cadore (2017).
