Andrea Festa is pleased to announce that a selection of artworks by Carlotta Mazzariol has been placed into the public collection of X Museum (Beijing), marking an important institutional acquisition and a significant milestone in the artist’s career.
Founded by collector and philanthropist Michael Xufu Huang, X Museum is one of China’s leading contemporary art institutions, known for its forward-looking curatorial program and international outlook. The inclusion of Mazzariol’s works within its permanent collection reinforces the growing global recognition of her practice and situates her research within a broader international dialogue.
The acquisition follows the strong reception of The Cat Is Under the Table, Mazzariol’s first solo exhibition at SALA NOVA, the project space of Andrea Festa. The exhibition presented a body of paintings rooted in everyday iconography—gardens, courtyards, domestic interiors—where familiar scenes unfold in a suspended narrative between intimacy and unease.
This institutional placement further confirms Andrea Festa’s ongoing commitment to supporting emerging artists through ambitious exhibitions and collaborations with museums and public collections worldwide, debuting Italian artists abroad and introducing international artists to the local scene.
