In this second variation, the artist focuses on the "threshold of legitimacy" that only the field of play seems to grant. The faces, leaning toward each other in a moment of almost sacred abandonment, challenge the monolithic ideal of an impermeable masculine identity. Through a warm and earthy palette, Dispenza portrays the embrace as an emotional apotheosis: an instant in which the male body, finally free from the weight of control, finds in vulnerability not a weakness, but the necessary completion of its own humanity.
